What We Do

MIG’s vision is to build community around Scotland’s clay heritage. To do this we co-create creative, exciting, and accessible ceramic projects and products that build community and enrich lives. Our products and services include ceramic artwork projects, commissions and installations and creative placemaking projects, connecting participants to the history and heritage of ceramic making in Scotland. We are currently working with Scottish Canals to scale the Beithir, a mythical lightening serpent and cousin of the Kelpies at Falkirk, who weaves her way across the Stockingfield Bridge Ceramic Art Park. The Beithir was created and designed by artist Nichol Wheatley and will be decorated with ceramic scales made by communities across Scotland and beyond. The scaling of the Biethir will be the largest ceramic community artwork in the UK. If you would like to know more about any aspect of our work or are interested in developing a bespoke community project or ceramic commission, please do get in touch. We would love to hear from you and discus how MIG can contribute to your vision.
