Welcome to Make It Glasgow
Make It Glasgow (MIG) Community Interest Company is a social benefit, not for profit business. Through making and learning with clay we aim to strengthen individual and community identity allowing people to connect and build community around the heritage of industrial ceramic production in Scotland. Our process explores local industrial pottery heritage and shared clay stories to inspire and develop new creative projects and build relationships. We co-create projects which help build skills, confidence and improve our environment, creating a sense of local self-esteem and belonging. Our ambition is to establish a ceramics manufacturing base and Scottish Pottery Museum at Stockingfield Bridge Ceramic Art Park reviving industrial ceramics skills and providing applications for contemporary ceramic learning, offering training and job opportunities and creative networking both nationally and internationally. MIG seeks to address the inequalities caused by poverty in accessing arts and culture. We are dedicated to providing communities most impacted by poverty with opportunities to connect with and celebrate Scotland's rich pottery heritage. Through supported volunteering pathways, MIG empowers individuals to build confidence, acquire valuable skills, and expand their knowledge. We are situated at Stockingfield Bridge Ceramic Art Park. Stockingfield Bridge is a brand-new, award-winning piece of infrastructure in North Glasgow reconnecting Maryhill, Ruchill and Gilshochill. The developing ceramic park is a place where engineering meets arts, meets community, rooted in the history and heritage of industrial pottery making in the local area.
Community Consultation
We are exploring the idea of redeveloping Hole 7 at the former Ruchill Golf Course (less than 10% of the entire golf course).
The purpose is to create a small museum, community space and working ceramic workshop. Hole 7 overlooks Stockingfield Bridge Ceramic Art Park and sits within the wider regeneration of Ruchill, Gilshochill & Maryhill
Please fill out our 2 minute online Community Engagement Questionnaire below and/or join us for some food & refreshments and to discuss any questions on the 3rd May at the Maryhill Burgh Halls.
